Watching the morning news and bits of highlights of Obama's overseas trip. How wonderful it feels to be proud of our president and leader again. Healing cannot begin until recognition of past mistakes takes place and he is beginning that progress. Our country, as great as it is, is not perfect. I so hope this is the beginning of to an time when we no longer bully the rest of the world, and instead begin to lead it again.
And then there is Dick Cheney and his daughter, on their magical mystery media tour. His revision of history leaves me incredulous. It reminds me of when we first invaded Iraq. The Iraq government had a public relations minister (I believe that's what he was) who would come out and report that Iraq was defeating the Americans and life was going on normally. The media would do a split screen of him spewing his PR babble, juxtaposed to the other screen with images of total destruction. This minister became comical. I can't decide if Dick Cheney is comical or terribly frightening. Certainly his thoughts and history of using torture are incredibly frightening. The fact that his daughter has joined him in this craziness is bewildering and sad.
