Delighted to report that the season opener of The Closer did not disappoint. Kyra Sedgwick's, aka Brenda Lee Johnson, may be the best written and portrayed character on TV. Great supporting cast and terrific stories.
Just heard today that Melody Scott Thomas is leaving Young and the Restless. I fear that the new executives over there are ruining the best soap on TV. I believe it's no accident that there is a constant supply of ex-Y&R actors heading to Bold and the Beautiful. To let Nikki/Melody leave would be to let one of the backbones of the show to leave. The last 2 weeks on the show have been a total disappointment after what has been months of good stories, characters and actors. The show had taken a terrible downturn a while back and seemed to rebound with the coming of Bill Bell's daughter in law to oversee things. The recent trend towards crazed characters and gothic overtones have been laughable. Combine that with the ridiculous Jack/Phyllis/Sharon/Nick storyline and it's just pathetic. Now that have topped it off with a stolen art plot that is disjointed and boring. I've been watching this soap since the day it began and I was a sophomore in college. It's so bad now thought that I won't be watching it much longer if they don't make changes.
Just caught up with the new season of Weeds. Love that show and continue to be amazed and amused by the twists and turns of these truly twisted characters.
