CBS sacks WBCN for all-sports Boston station

I happened to be listening when WBCN came on the air for the very first time. I was babysitting my younger brothers and passing the time by lying on my parent's bed and listening to the radio in their bedroom. Like nothing I had ever heard before it was fun and outrageous and the music they introduced me to was eye opening and life changing. It was radio that played good music that wasn't formatted by categories or machines, but rather by wildly creative personalities. WBCN hasn't been the "same" for many years, but still it's a Boston icon whose end is just another poignant reminder of the times gone by.
