Manhattan by George Grosz

I recently obtained at auction, a lot of fine art postcards. This is one of my favorites from the collection. It's called Manhattan, by artist George Grosz and was done in a watercolor-like paint called Gouache. The back of the card reads that the original is in the collection of Erich S. Hermann, New York. The postcard was publised by The Pallas Gallery and is printed on a lovely quality stock. Grosz was known for caricatures and you can sense a bit of that in this depiction of Manhattan, as it is a bit whimsical. I just love it. I'm putting the card up for bid on Ebay.
