Until about the 1970's, great percentages of the population worked at many of the busy factories located along the rivers of Nashua and Manchester. Jobs at many of these factories meant life long employment with good benefits and a good living wage. I can recall Nashua Corporation as being considered one of the best places to work in New Hampshire. Over the years the company has struggled to define itself and remain competitive and finally, sadly, it has now been sold.
